Last night, at St. Mark’s Cathedral, we gathered to begin the Holy Three Days, The Triduum, with Maundy Thursday. We washed each other’s feet, and stripped the altar, we rushed out to the front lawn of the Cathedral, and there with the number 49 bus whirling by, and commerce and life going on, we recounted the agony in Gethsemane, and with the words, “and they all deserted him” we quietly left.
And so, here we are in the midst of the Vigil, people praying at all hours in the Cathedral until tonight, when we gather to continue the journey, with this day, Good Friday.
It is not too late to join in that journey, wherever you find yourself, the pilgrimage, which is, for a Christian, the most important of the year, is happening in all corners of this globe. Come join the journey, with Good Friday today, and the Great Vigil of Easter tomorrow, and the joy of Easter morning Sunday, come join us and renew your inheritance.
