We have been visiting schools here. In the West Bank, Bethlehem University, the Arab Evangelical School in Ramallah, which is a ministry of the American Friends of the Diocese of Jerusalem. When we visited Bethlehem University the students told us, “education is our weapon, no one can take that away from us.” It is a peaceful weapon too. We visited there today, along with the beautiful and rich Israeli Museum. The Director of the Arab Evangelical School is Iyad Rafidi who has welcomed us for the last two years and is most gracious and so committed to this work and sees it very much as his ministry.
We also visited St. Andrew’s Church, Ramallah with Fr. Fedi Daub as our host.
We ate lunch in Ramallah and then moved to the Israeli Museum in Jerusalem. Here there is an excellent model of Jerusalem in Jesus’ time. It began to rain but we persisted to explore nonetheless
And today I asked seminarian Cristi Chapman to share her thoughts on this pilgrimage so far.
And finally a post at St. Catherine’s Church next to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem sums it up!
