Our delegation of 8 from the Diocese of Olympia arrived last night on time and in a driving rain storm.  Not much different from home except the temperature here is about 88 degrees!

We were warmly welcomed and fed after our trip through Customs and an hour to our quarters at San Juan Evangelista Residencia Anglicana.

After a good nights rest we were treated to breakfast and then we loaded up and headed for the town of Quetzaltepeque LaLibertad to learn about the church and school there under the superb direction of the Rev Alfredo Lopez and his wife Yury.  This is San Miguel Arcangel.  The children prepared a wonderful program of welcome for us and since it is for our whole diocese I offer it to you too!

Then 3rd grade

They made us pastries and the church members gave the Rev. Jo Beecher, our guide and their dear friend, and me a beautiful handcrafted cross.

We met with women from the town of San Estaban, a church where Fr Alfredo also is priest, and a town we had hoped to travel to however the rains made our small van incapable of getting there  these woman sew and are learning to embroider. Their crafts are beautiful and our group is bringing many home. The Diocese of Olympia has supported this ministry for which they are very grateful here.

Tonight we had a meeting with the Mission Committee here which oversees our companion relationship and Bishop Alvarado.

Then a wonderful dinner together. Prayers and goodnight!
